It may be summer at last here in Duluth, but you can’t trust that that will mean nice weather and blue skies. While plenty of hardy souls may brave rain to have fun outdoors now that the temperatures are too high for snow, plenty of us would like to find something pleasant to do indoors when it is showering. In this blog, we are covering a few family-friendly activities for a rainy day in Duluth MN.

The Edge Waterpark
It can be fun to go outside to swim, but indoors has lots of benefits. Like temperature control. This 35,000-square-foot waterpark (2400 London Road) is attached to the Edgewater Hotel. It is open 8 a.m. to 10 p.m. most days, though special events on some days may limit the hours. Wristbands to this water park are complimentary with a room at the hotel, but some waterpark day packages are available. Call 218-728-3601 for pricing and availability or learn more here.
Great Lakes Aquarium
Learn more about the waters of the Great Lakes, and the fantastic fish that frolic within them at the Great Lakes Aquarium (353 Harbor Driver). In addition to fish, this aquarium has exhibits on otters, birds, and shipwrecks. The aquarium doors are open 10 a.m. to 6 p.m. daily in the summer (with attendees welcome to stay until 7 p.m.). Cost for admission is $11.99 for children ages 3-12, $13.99 for ages 13-17, and $17.99 for adults. Seniors, military members, students, AAA members, those with limited incomes and groups may be eligible for special rates. Learn more here.
Duluth Children’s Museum
Have plenty of fun and learn something too at the Duluth Children’s Museum (115 South 29th Avenue West). Cost is $9 per person (and free for members!) and the museum is open 10 a.m. to 5 p.m Tuesday through Saturday and noon to 5 p.m. on Sundays.
